ZANE FECHT KILLED IN GRAIN ELEVATOR ACCIDENT AT INTERSTATE COMMODITIES INC. IN FREMONT

Fremont, Nebraska (September 24, 2019) – A man was killed in a grain elevator accident on Sunday in Fremont, according to the authorities.

The accident was reported around 2:00 p.m. September 22, at Interstate Commodities, Inc.

Officials said Zane Fecht, 32, of Bellevue, an employee of Interstate Commodities, Inc. was inside and he was trying to break some grain free. He was accompanied by a co-worker who walked away for a few minutes, and when he came back, Fecht was missing.

Authorities were called to help with the search. It took them seven-and-a-half hours to find Fecht.

Fecht was declared dead at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
