ONE KILLED IN TWO-VEHICLE CRASH ON HIGHWAY 136 IN JEFFERSON COUNTY

Jefferson County, Nebraska (September 10, 2019) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Jefferson County, according to the deputies.
The crash occurred around 5:25 p.m. September 9, on Highway 136.
Deputies said a white SUV was heading eastbound on the highway while a semi-tractor trailer was heading westbound.
According to witnesses, the SUV swerved into the westbound lane and struck the semi.
The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene. They were not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the semi was taken to Jefferson County Health and Life with minor injuries.
The highway was closed for several hours following the crash.
The authorities are investigating the crash.
