MELVIN YATES, JUDY YATES AND ALISON ELKER INJURED IN CAR ACCIDENT AT 30TH STREET AND SORENSEN PARKWAY IN OMAHA
Omaha, Nebraska (September 19, 2019) – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon at an Omaha intersection, according to a local news source.
The crash happened on Wednesday, September 18, in the area of 30th Street and Sorensen Parkway.
Police said a 2005 Honda Accord was heading southbound on 30th Street when it tried to turn eastbound towards the Storz Expressway on-ramp and was hit by a northbound 2008 Ford Edge.
The Honda driver, Melvin Yates, 82, of Carrier Mills, Illinois, was taken to Nebraska Medicine and was treated for aches and pains. A passenger in the Honda, Judy Yates, 74, was also taken to Nebraska Medicine with critical chest and leg injuries.
The Ford driver, Alison Elker, 29, of Omaha, was taken to Nebraska Medicine for treatment of aches and pains.
The crash closed 30th street north of Sorensen.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Omaha Police at 402-444-5626.
