MAN KILLED IN TWO-VEHICLE CRASH ON HIGHWAY 35 NEAR WINSIDE

Winside, Nebraska (September 25, 2019) – A man was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday night near Winside, according to a local news source.

The crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. September 23, on Highway 35.

Deputies said a vehicle was heading southbound on the highway when it hit a southbound tractor. The impact caused the vehicle to roll into a ditch.

A passenger in the vehicle was declared dead at the scene. The driver was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in unknown condition.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured in the crash.

Lack of seatbelt usage was a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
