JOSE BARRIOS KILLED IN CAR CRASH ON HIGHWAY 9 NEAR WEST POINT

West Point, Nebraska (August 19, 2019) – A man was killed and another was injured Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash north of West Point, according to officials.

The fatal crash happened around 9:40 a.m. August 18, on Nebraska Highway 9.

Deputies said Jose Luis Barrios, 21, of Denison, Iowa, was driving a Mazda when he crossed the line and hit a Chevrolet Traverse driven by Michael J. Jensen, 28, of West Point.

Barrios was declared dead at the scene.

Jensen was taken to St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point in unknown condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
