DERRICK ASHLEY INJURED IN SCOOTER CRASH WITH CITY BUS ON FLORENCE BOULEVARD IN OMAHA

Omaha, Nebraska (September 11, 2019) – 9-year-old Derrick Ashley was injured Tuesday evening in a scooter accident in Omaha, according to the police.

The accident took place around 5:00 p.m. September 10, on Florence Boulevard at Pinkney Street near Kountze Park.

Police said the driver of a city bus honked at Ashley who was riding an orange Spin scooter southbound on Florence Boulevard and then began to pass him.

Ashley appeared to move toward the curb but then collided with the bus.

Ashley was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation is underway.
