ANDREW REDWING KILLED IN TWO-VEHICLE CRASH ON HIGHWAY 35 NEAR WINSIDE

Winside, Nebraska (September 25, 2019) – A man was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday night near Winside, according to a local news source.

The crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. September 23, on Highway 35.

Deputies said Brody Vrooman was driving southbound on the highway when he hit a southbound tractor driven by Jeffrey Aschoff. The impact caused the vehicle to roll into a ditch.

Andrew Redwing of Norfolk, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was declared dead at the scene. Vrooman was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in unknown condition.

Aschoff was uninjured in the crash.

Lack of seatbelt usage was a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
