Adelia Morales-Lopez Killed in Car Accident on Highway 30 in Lexington

Lexington, Nebraska (November 2, 2019) – A woman was killed Friday morning in a traffic collision in Lexington, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash took place around 7:33 a.m. November 1, in the area of Road 435 and Highway 30.

Deputies said an eastbound 2010 Peterbilt pulling a dump trailer was attempting to make a northbound turn when it was rear-ended by a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by 65-year-old Adelia Morales-Lopez of Lexington.

Morales-Lopez was trapped in her car, and the Jaws of Life were used to free her. She was rushed to Lexington Regional Hospital then transferred to CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney with severe injuries, where she later died.

The driver of the Peterbilt, 68-year-old Danny Jackson of Lincoln, declined medical treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
