ABBY WHITFORD STRUCK BY CAR, CRITICALLY INJURED AT 2ND AND WASHINGTON STREETS IN PAPILLION

Papillion, Nebraska (August 22, 2019) – A young girl was critically injured in a pedestrian accident Tuesday afternoon in downtown Papillion, according to the police.

The accident happened around 4:00 p.m. August 20, at the intersection of 2nd and Washington streets.

According to police, witnesses said Abby Whitford was crossing Washington Street with her brother when she was hit by a vehicle.

Whitford was taken to Children's Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition.

The car driver remained at the scene after the accident.

The Sarpy County Crash Response Team is conducting the investigation.
