3 Pedestrians Hit by Car at Abbot Drive and Crown Point Avenue in Omaha
Omaha, Nebraska (September 7, 2019) – Three pedestrians were hit by a car Friday night in Omaha, police said.
The accident occurred around 11:20 p.m. in the area of Abbot Drive and Crown Point Avenue.
Police said Daniel Ramirez, 29, was driving under the influence eastbound on Abbot Drive, approaching the intersection when he lost control of his car, hit a median, a street sign, and three people.
The pedestrians were gathering for street racing.
Two of the three victims were taken to Nebraska Medicine for treatment.
Ramirez was arrested for DUI, no insurance and reckless driving.
An investigation is underway.
