1 KILLED IN CRASH WITH SEMI ON HIGHWAY 6 IN POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY

Pottawattamie County, Nebraska (September 26, 2019) – A person was killed in a traffic collision Monday night in Pottawattamie County, according to the deputies.

The fatal crash happened on Monday, September 23, on Highway 6.

Deputies said the man was driving eastbound on the highway when he attempted to pass a semi. As he was passing the semi, another semi was at the top of the hill in the opposite direction. When the man tried to get back over, he was rear-ended by the semi he was trying to pass initially.

The impact caused the man to lose control, and he collided with a westbound semi.

The man was declared dead at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
