1 INJURED IN FIERY SEMI-TRUCK CRASH ON INTERSTATE 80 IN WAVERLY

Waverly, Nebraska (September 27, 2019) – One person was injured in a fiery semi-truck collision Wednesday afternoon in Waverly, according to the NSP.

The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. September 25, on Interstate 80.

NSP said a semi-truck rear-ended another semi-truck on the highway. Both semi-trucks caught fire on impact.

One of the drivers was taken to Bryan West Campus with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the semi that rear-ended the other was cited for following too close.

The crash backed up traffic on Interstate 80.

An investigation is underway.
