ONE STUDENT INJURED IN SCHOOL BUS ACCIDENT NEAR 20TH STREET AND NEBRASKA 2 IN LINCOLN

Lincoln, Nebraska (September 6, 2019) – One student was injured in a school bus crash Thursday afternoon in Lincoln, according to the authorities.

The crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. September 5, near the intersection of 20th Street and Nebraska 2.

Officials said a bus carrying three high school special education students collided with a car near the intersection.

The students participate in the Independence Academy, a life skills and job-training program for students ages 18-21. They were heading home when the crash happened, according to the school officials.

One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
