CARLO MALDONADO-EYZAGUIRRE, LUCIANA L. PERALTA AND JEFFREY LORENZ INJURED IN CAR ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE 80 IN OMAHA

Omaha, Nebraska (August 19, 2019) – Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning in Omaha, according to the police.

The collision occurred shortly before 4:00 a.m. August 18, on Interstate 80 near 42nd Street.

Police said Carlo Maldonado-Eyzaguirre, 42, Luciana L. Peralta, 46, and Jeffrey Lorenz, 40, all of Omaha, were traveling eastbound in a Jeep when a Dodge Ram rear-ended their vehicle.

The impact caused the Jeep to spin out and roll before coming to rest on the 42nd Street exit ramp.

The Dodge driver fled the scene but the vehicle disabled and came to a stop at the Interstate 480 and U.S. Highway 75 split.

Peralta was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition

The Dodge driver, a 21-year-old Colorado man, was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and drug possession.

An investigation is underway.
