ALEXANDER J. JOUBERT KILLED IN SUV CRASH ON HIGHWAY 136 IN JEFFERSON COUNTY

Jefferson County, Nebraska (September 11, 2019) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Jefferson County, according to the authorities.

The crash occurred around 5:25 p.m. September 9, on Highway 136.

Deputies said Alexander J. Joubert, 25, of Fairbury, was driving a white SUV eastbound on the highway while a semi-tractor trailer was heading westbound.

According to witnesses, the SUV swerved into the westbound lane and struck the semi.

Joubert was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, but the SUV’s air bags deployed.

The driver of the semi, a 56-year-old Wisconsin man, was taken to Jefferson County Health and Life with minor injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours following the crash.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
