2 INJURED IN TWO-VEHICLE CRASH ON WEST OMAHA AVENUE IN NORFOLK

Norfolk, Nebraska (September 16, 2019) – Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night in Norfolk, a local news source reported.

The crash was reported at about 6:40 p.m. September 15, in the 3300 block of West Omaha Avenue.

Authorities said a man was driving a pickup truck when he crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming SUV. The impact pushed both vehicles into a ditch.

The SUV driver was pulled out by a bystander, 17-year-old Wyatt Smydra before the car caught fire.

The pickup driver was airlifted to the hospital in unknown condition while the SUV driver was taken to the hospital by Norfolk Fire.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
