2 INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT AT 48TH STREET AND BENTON AVENUE IN LINCOLN; TRAVIS WILLIAMS ARRESTED

Lincoln, Nebraska (September 16, 2019) – Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday night in Lincoln, a local news source reported.

The crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. September 14, at the intersection of 48th Street and Benton Street.

Police said a 40-year-old woman was riding a motorcycle northbound on 48th Street when a southbound Dodge Avenger made a left turn in front of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision.

The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her 42-year-old male passenger was also taken to the hospital with traumatic injuries.

The car driver, Travis Williams, 29, left the scene after the accident. Williams was later arrested at his home for leaving the scene of an injury accident and DUI. He had a BAC of .139 and has two previous DUI convictions.

The crash remains under investigation.
