WESLEY B. DORN KILLED IN TRAIN ACCIDENT ON 611 AVENUE IN JOHNSON COUNTY

Sterling, Nebraska (September 10, 2019) – A man was killed on Sunday in a train accident in Johnson County, according to the authorities.

The crash occurred on Sunday, September 8, on 611 Avenue near Locust Street.

Authorities said Wesley B. Dorn, 57, of Adams, was driving a pickup truck southbound on 611 Avenue when he failed to stop at a train crossing and was struck by an eastbound BNSF Railway coal train.

Dorn was declared dead at the scene.

Officials said the railroad crossing is marked with a sign but doesn’t have flashing lights or crossbars.

An investigation is ongoing.
