JAMES M. MCCOLLUM, ANTHONY W. LAVE INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH ON WEBSTER BOULEVARD NEAR PLATTSMOUTH

Plattsmouth, Nebraska (October 15, 2019) – Two men were injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon near Plattsmouth, a local news source reported.

The crash was reported around 2:37 p.m. on October 14, in the area of Webster Boulevard and U.S. Highway 34/75.

Deputies said James M. McCollum, 49, of Bellevue, was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Webster Boulevard when he slowed to turn northbound onto Highway 75. Anthony W. Lave, 43, of Omaha, was riding a Honda motorcycle, also heading westbound when he failed to slow down and hit McCollum’s motorcycle.

McCollum was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha with leg and back injuries.

Lave was taken to the hospital with possible head injuries.

Both riders were wearing state-approved helmets at the time of the crash.

An investigation is underway.
